A dragon of 4,444 scales lies on its hoard on Robinhood Chain. Every mint knocks off one scale, and the scale is an NFT. Strike with iron for free, or with gold, and be paid by every gold strike after you.
Your browser mines it: it looks for a nonce whose keccak256 hash, together with the dragon's seed and your address, falls under the mark. One iron scale per wallet, forever. Through the first third of the dragon (1,481 iron) the work grows from 20 to 28 bits: seconds on a computer, longer on a phone. After that the mark follows the gold price, so one iron costs about nine tenths of a gold scale in rented GPU time, twice as much every 111 iron.
Iron pays nothing. It earns its share of every gold strike after it, and its picture fills with gold as it earns, full at 0.0002 ETH.
A gold scale costs 0.001 ETH, and 0.0001 ETH more every 111 scales: 0.005 ETH at the end. Up to nine in one transaction, each at its own price; anything paid over comes back in the same transaction. Every gold payment is split at once:
The first gold has no gold before it, so its 65% goes to every scale before it as well. If the very first scale is gold, nobody is before it and its share goes to the hoard.
The first gold strike starts the fight. For six hours after it the dragon cannot fall. Then every gold strike sets the countdown back to 120 minutes, 15 minutes less every hour, 15 minutes at least; a strike never brings the fall closer. When it runs out, or when the last scale is struck, the dragon falls and the mint closes for good.
When the dragon falls, one of the last nine gold strikes becomes the heart scale and takes the whole hoard. The draw uses the hash of a block after the fall, so nobody can aim for it. Anyone may start it from the page: one transaction seals the block, the next one draws the heart. A strike of several scales is one blow; its last scale can be the heart.
What a scale earns stays on it until you collect, any time, every scale of yours in one transaction. Sold or sent, a scale settles its unpaid earnings to the seller, and the buyer starts from zero. The trait Earned counts a scale's whole life and never resets.
Each scale takes one of sixteen forms, each with its own rarity, drawn from the hash of the block after its mint. The next mint records it; if nothing touches the collection for about eleven hours and the hash is gone, the form is drawn again from a later block, so no scale stays without one. The pictures are drawn on the chain by the Art contract from the scale's number, metal, form, earnings and stage: the fight moves through nine places as the dragon loses its scales.
No owner, no pause, no admin key, no token of its own. Royalties are 5% (ERC-2981), enforced through ERC721-C, to the author's treasury; the author's 15% of gold is sent there by anyone, at any time. The transfer rules were set once at the deploy and nobody can change them: any holder can always send a scale, from a plain wallet, a smart wallet or an EIP-7702 account, and marketplaces sell it with the royalty.
